Straight answers to the questions readers ask most about AI on Poise & Pearl.
Does Poise & Pearl use AI?
Yes. AI tools assist with research, drafting and image generation. We think you should know that, and we think you should know exactly where the human work happens.
What does AI actually do here?
- Research support: summarizing public product details, size charts and common fit complaints so our editor can verify them faster.
- Drafting support: outlining articles, producing rough first drafts of sections, and suggesting headline and Pinterest description options.
- Image generation: creating outfit flat lays, product-style collages and faceless styling scenes.
- Proofing: flagging typos, repetition and hard-to-read sentences.
Who checks the work?
A human editor reviews and edits every article before it's published. That means verifying fabric, sizing and price information against current listings, cutting anything we can't support, rewriting for clarity and voice, and making sure the outfit images match the pieces described. No article goes from an AI tool to the site unreviewed. The "Reviewed by" line names the editor responsible.
Are the outfit images real photos?
Most are not. Our outfit images are AI-generated illustrations or styled scenes: flat lays on linen or marble, collages, and cropped styling shots without faces. They show how pieces and colors work together. They are not photos of a specific product unless the caption says so, and we label AI images where it's relevant. Retailer product photos in shopping grids are labeled as product images.
Do you use AI-generated models?
We don't present AI-generated women as real people, and we don't use AI models with realistic faces. When a figure appears in an image, it's cropped without a face, and we review images so they don't push a single body type or retouched ideal.
Have you tested the products you recommend?
Not unless we say so in the article. Recommendations are based on research of public product information, reviews and specifications. AI may help collect that information, but a person decides what's recommended and why.
How do you handle bias?
AI tools tend to default to narrow ideas of who is stylish. Our editor reviews outfit suggestions and images for range in body shape, size and budget, and rejects anything that slips into age-shaming language.
What will Poise & Pearl never do with AI?
- Publish an article without human review
- Invent personal anecdotes, testimonials or "I wore it" claims
- Present AI images as real customers, real women or real results
- Use AI to generate beauty or health claims without verifying them against reliable sources
What about Pinterest?
When we share AI-generated images on Pinterest, we follow Pinterest's policies for disclosing AI-generated content.
How do I flag a problem?
